So to start my year I've decided I want to cleanse my body of all the junk I've been eating over the past few months.
Some of you may have heard of this detox as the Beyonce diet, where she lost a good amount of weight for the Dreamgirls movie she did.
I've done this detox a couple of times and in an ironic way, rather enjoyed the process.
There are different ways you can attack this detox. The following programmes are:
The Total Detox Programme
This programme is the full fast. Abstaining from solid for for a short time. For beginners/first timers you abstain from for for 3 - 5 days, for intermedimate 5 - 7 days and advanced/ more experienced, 10 days.
The Relaxed Detox Programme
This is a relaxed version which is done over a longer period of time, where you eat a healthy clean lunch and drink the detox drink for breakfast and dinner. But there are rules. No sweets, processed foods, red meat, fried foods, white bread, refined flour, dairy products, coffee cigarettes and alcohol). The relaxed version is done over a period of 14 days.
The 5:2 Diet
The 5:2. That’s five days eating normally and two days fasting.

The drink consists of Madal Bal Tree Syrup, cayenne pepper and juice of a fresh organic lemons. Madal Bal Tree Syrup is a blend of premium grade palm and maple saps.
The taste is sweet but not sickly. Along with the detox drink, I must drink 2 litres of water....... Some feel 2 litres of water is a lot, but for me I drink more than 2 litres of water a day on a day to day anyway.
Over the next few days I'll be documenting and sharing my experience every 3-4 days, while doing the total detox programme.
There is also a book available online about the lemon detox diet. I reccommed you read up on the lemon detox programme, seek advise where needed before starting the detox.
